About The Trainer

Mr Sanjeeva Shivesh has more than 20 years of experience in business strategy with firms like Indian Railways, Booz & Co (London) and FIRE Capital Fund. As a corporate trainer, he specializes in program design for adult learners. In HR field, he has designed programs such as HR Analytics, Competency based Interview, Competency based Assessments, Balanced Scorecard, Total Rewards Management etc.  He holds a MBA from Cranfield School of Management, one of the top 20 Business Schools in Europe.

Learning Agenda

Day 1: HR Dashboards and Matrices

Module 1: Introduction to Evidence Based HR

  • Exploration into the concepts of Evidence based HR
  • How different firms are using data driven approach to HR decisions
  • Case studies from financial services, retail, technology, sports, etc.

Module 2: Fundamental HR Metrics for success

  • Metrics for Workforce Planning, Recruitment & Selection, Compensation and Benefits, Performance, Career Development, Attrition, Utilization, ROI etc
  • Challenges with Metrics HR Dashboard Planning
  • Interactive HR dashboard design exercise

Participants working in groups work through a real life example to identify select and prioritize various HR Metrics linking to the strategy of the firm for their respective domains Recruitment and Selection, Talent Management, Learning and Development, Performance, Total Rewards etc.

Module 3: Implementation of Metrics

  • Participants shall be given a group assignment on the implementation of metrics for in-class practice and discussion based on what were discussed in Module 2.

Day 2: HR Analytics Session

Module 4: Fundamental Tools for HR Analytics

  • Conducting exploratory analysis, exception analysis, variance analysis, hypothesis testing, regression analysis
  • Case Study on Relationship between performance and pay

Module 5: Analysis of HR Data in Microsoft Excel

  • HR related Data Handling, Collection and Presentation, using graphical and numerical techniques like statistical and probability theory
  • Case study: Participants work through examples on manpower planning, employee engagement in Microsoft Excel

Module 6: People Development Analytics

  • Choosing the right tools for Assessment and Development, validation of tools, Training Analytics
  • Case Study: application for people development in successful firms, Return on Training Investment

Module 7: Predictive Modeling in HR

  • Analytical Tools for determination of cause-effect relationship, regression, multiple regressions, cluster analysis, factor analysis etc.
  • Case studies from various sectors to be discussed.
