1 Day Workshop on Constructive Psychology - Developing Self Confidence for Performance Improvement

Introduction

Constructive Psychology acknowledges the individual's natural abilities and rate of progression. It is not a forced 'just do it' approach to growth and development but takes into account the individual's current state, natural defense mechanisms and coping strategies and normal resistances and leads into more personally acceptable strategies that the individual is willing to implement. Where there is a need to 'just do it' it is at the level of the individual's psychological readiness.

Self Confidence, the belief in one's self effectiveness, but distinct from arrogance, is the hallmark of a person who is living a fulfilling life. Our confidence is shaken when worries, anxieties, fears, leading to self doubt, procrastination and avoidance are allowed to get in the way of our performance and achievement. However, our fears and anxieties, especially if these have been with us for long time and are pervasive across our endeavors, are not going to just go away by forcing ourselves to do what we need to do.

In this workshop you will learn to understand your fears, and anxieties and the purpose they are trying to serve. And through a staged approach to dealing with your fears and anxieties, you will develop personally relevant strategies that you are willing to, want to and can implement, to develop your level of confidence to do what you want and need to do to improve performance in your chosen area. You will be able to apply the process and techniques you learn in this workshop to develop your confidence in other areas of your life.
