Industry Expert: Mr Jayesh Avlani

Mr Avlani is globally recognised specialist in international trade finance and all areas of banking with more than 20 years' experience working in major international foreign banks in the area of Corporate Banking and Trade Finance. His work encompasses Corporate Relationship Management, Trade Financing and Structured Trade and Commodity Finance. He started his career in the Trade Bills & Remittances Department of a major local bank following which he has worked with several large European banks. He led a team of Relationship Managers in effectively delivering Trade and Structured trade solutions to clients. He also specializes in customised structured trade solutions for clients particularly in commodity trading space to meet their requirements. Currently, he heads the Structured Trade Finance team of a regional bank.

Jayesh is currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer for Trade Finance in Singapore Management University (SMU) and had supported Institute of Banking & Finance (IBF), in running Banking Diploma (Trade Finance) programs, setting and reviewing examination papers. He has conducted trade finance related public workshops for various institutes and institutions such as IBF; Export Institute of Singapore; EDB , IE Singapore as well as in-house customized programs for logistics, commodity trading and audit companies.
