Satan Will Not Defeat You

By Lee Lightfoot

Most of us tend not to take Satan gravely in our lives. Often he is described as this malicious cunning looking guy with a pitchfork who is immediately recognise. The real truth is that he was once one of the most pretty creatures in heaven before God cast him out because of his rebellion against God. The Bible announces he is "the angel of light". Part of his deception is how he can make sin and malicious so desirable to us. If he seemed a nasty demon, it might be straightforward to avoid him.

Make no mistake; Satan is the greatest enemy you may ever have in your life. The Bible announces he stalks around like a roaring lion looking to devour. He intends to leave nothing left of you when he's finished. According to John 10:10, he also comes to take, kill and destroy. He doesn?t simply cock up your life he destroys it one little lie after another.

Have you taken Satan seriously? He's real and is active and deleterious in our lives, our sin nature is also just as real and just as destructive. Scripture tells us if we say we are without sin, we call God a liar. To reject the role of Satan and the role of sin in our life would be stupid.

We reside in a world that is fallen, a world cursed by God due to Adam and Eve's sin. We reside in a world chock full of death and disease where our body is wasting away. Because the world is fallen and Satan is real, we are going to face suffering in this world.

We also know that we will live this life in victory. Also, after this life, we've got the hope of Heaven where there'll be no death, illness or sin, and Satan will be in the lake of fire. Our victory is warranted.
