Great Tips On Following Email Etiquette

By James Anderson

Email etiquette seems to have been left behind nowadays with all the things we need to do everyday and the fact that we always seem to require more time. Even so, we should instead take the time to look at our social manners and make our everyday life and the ones of those surrounding us nicer by just following some very simple email etiquette rules. It is a matter of manners and etiquette to compose an email that has a considerate tone and expresses everything we wish to in a crystal clear and concise approach.

For example, when writing the subject line, you should never write a paragraph, a long sentence or even leave the space blank because this will not make a good impression. The subject line should be very short and express the main idea of the email in a few words. Spelling and grammar is also a very important aspect that needs to be considered when composing an email. Because of the fact that we always seem to be in a hurry, we do not care about writing rules and about how the text looks.

When writing an email, using complete words and nice phrases without any abbreviation will make a really good impression on the receiver of the email. After writing the text of the email, you can upload whatever files you believe are necessary, but try to make it as neat as possible. This means that the name of the attachment needs to be short and its size needs to be small enough so that the receiver of the email is able to open it without any problems.

Most people take pleasure in personalizing everything including the emails they send, but this is not always the best option. Even though the stationary seems nice with all the margins decorated and the background colored, it may make it harder for the receivers to read the text and it may not look nearly as good on their displays as it does on ours. It is best to send out a regular email where you write black on white all you have to say.

Just to be sure the email is composed right, you have to write the subject line having in mind the purpose of the email. After that, you need to write a polite opening and continue writing in a polite tone. This is available for following telephone etiquette too, as you always need to have a polite tone. Also, you should say everything you have to say in a medium-sized text and write without abbreviations.
