1 Day Workshop on Behavioral Interviewing
Practical And Professional Knowledge It has become more challenging for companies to find the right employees. A bad hiring decision nowadays can be immensely expensive for an organization - cost of the hire, training costs, severance pay, loss of productivity, impact on morale, cost of re-hiring, etc. (Gallup international places the cost of a bad hire as being 3.2 times the individual's salary). Studies indicate that 40% of new executives fail in their first 18 months in a new job. This workshop provides a guide to understanding and implementing effective behavioral interviewing techniques to identify and hire an employee who can perform the duties of a particular job at the desired level. Thereby, improving your hiring ROI, and increasing your company's competitive edge in today's market. A critical step in the employee selection process is the employment interview. Behavioral Interviewing focuses on the applicant's past actions and behaviors, rather than subjective impressions that can sometimes be misleading, so interviewers can make more accurate hiring decisions. It reduces the chance of potential bias or discrimination and has proven to be successful in regards to job relatedness. In fact, behavioral interviewing is said to be 55 percent predictive of future on-the-job behavior, while traditional interviewing is only 10 percent predictive (*Career Center of the University of Notre Dame, Janz, Hellervik, & Gilmore, 1986).
