Murder Mystery Book Authors Keep Us On The Edge Of Our Seats

By Celina Heath

There are many murder mystery book authors that everyone has on the tip of their tongue when it is time to think about what to read. Edgar Allen Poe comes to mind. So does Joseph Wambaugh and Tom Clancy. They also write other types of fiction and some do non fiction, however, they are best known for the who done it type of work.

A discussion with many of these writers will not necessarily be illuminating as to how and why they do what they do. Some will mention a process and others will talk about motivations and other elements that go into their writings. Their sources of ideas may just be different than what you thought, at first. Most readers simply like the idea that they do come up with all of those marvelous ideas.

Just about every story starts with a hero that is flawed in some way. Why this has to be is something that escapes most peoples minds. This is also something that all writers will debate. It has something to do with, of course, the ability to rise above their own problems to find the answer to the questions brought up in the story line and catch the bad guy, or girl.

The people who have been cast as the bad guys or the bad girls will also be something you would not like to meet in a dark alley. And, then again, some times they are better able to handle the day than the hero. They will come from all of the many walks of life and may or may not be evil looking.

A few of the ten best mystery books ever written is a who is who of this genre. There is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and all of his books about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. There are less well known people, such as Alice Sebold and The Lovely Bones. Jo Nesbo and The Redbreast is also on this list.

The vast majority of all mystery writers will have the following that other genres wish they had. Review websites will have a lot of comments on all of the latest, even to the point of surprising other people who have not read the book yet. Amazon has all of them and they literally fly off the shelves when most of them come up for sale.

Some of these will be very familiar and others will not be well known. Umbeto Eco, Frederick Forsyth, Agatha Christie, Margery Allingham and Barbara Vine to name just a very few. All of them have their followers and, even though some of these may have stopped writing, these words of fiction are still quoted. Some of the authors are dead and they live on in their writings.

Most of the books written by the murder mystery book authors that are loved and looked for are the ones that break out of the norm. They help people relax, get scared or calm themselves for other things in their own life. They really appreciate the cleverly constructed crime as well as the ways in which the hero settles the issue. These writers are the true heroes in any genre.
