Tips In Writing Easter Play Scripts

By Maryann Young

There are many reasons for the writing of Easter play scripts. It may be created for entertainment or for commercial purposes. It can also be created as entertainment for kids or for publication. Whatever the reason may be, the process in making the script is the same.

The factors that affect the outcome of the production is also the same for all types of work. The age of the audience is among the primary things to consider. Next is the accessibility of the materials needed for the props and costumes for the final presentation. Another factor for consideration is the preference of the target audience. It is also helpful if you could determine their interests so you can integrate the information into the plot of the play. An example is the contribution of children in making the production with a theme for them.

Content that befits the age of the audience is important. Adult content should not be included in a play for children, just like cartoon characters are not appropriate if the show is for adults. All topics discussed and ideas integrated into the production should also be understood easily by the viewers. Shows for kids often have the moral lessons where kids could learn the value of good manners.

A storyline for the show should also be established. The characters and show personalities should evolve around the plot. Make a clear and detailed descriptions of the relationships among the personalities. Determine also the length of exposure of each. Once established, the information makes the story and create conflicts, love interests, drama scenes, and other factors that make the show worth watching.

It is also important that there is harmony between the determined nature of the show and the different scenes. Conflict between two characters, or a dramatic scene also adds excitement to the presentation. You can also create a scene where the central character conflicts with themselves. This keeps the viewers guessing for the next scene or the conclusion of the production.

An outline for the production should include the players, the different acts, and the manner of stage presentation. Describe each individual in a detailed manner and establish each personality. You can do this by including details about the background and abilities.

In the development of the plot, you need to outline the beginning, anti climatic scenes, climax, and the conclusion. In writing the dialogue for the stage presentation, take good care to use the appropriate language based on the age of your audience. Make notes that could help the stage director in the plotting of the characters and acts. Include also the props needed and the customs for each acts.

The scenery and attires used in the show can be made by hand. It can also be outsourced but may be costly for a small production. To instill in children the value of helping and teamwork, you can request the whole production team to give a hand in making all the scenes and costumes.

The length of the show should also be considered. Adult shows usually last longer than children presentations. This is because children are easily bored and should only be limited to short Easter play scripts.
