The Long And Interesting Alaskan History

The word Alaska originated from word that explains the direction that leads to the sea. The Alaskan history originated in the early years of 14,000BC. At that time there were groups of Asians that moved to the other side of Western Alaska. The western Alaska was occupied mostly by Alaskans who were split in many groups.

Mining of gold in this area created unity among the people living around back in 1890s. Alaska experienced a difference in the year 1912. The country had two islands that the Japanese came to rule over. The people of Alaska benefited a lot when gold was discovered.

The two islands were then occupied by the Japanese, the thought of recovering it to the U. S led to national pride. There was an increase in the growth of population in the Alaskan cities due to the development of military bases. This made Alaska popular and was given the title of statehood in the year 1959 on 3rd of January.

In the year 1964, Alaska made history when a disaster occurred. The earthquake disaster killed a total of a hundred and thirty one people leaving many injured. The outcome of the tragedy left so many villages empty and damaged.

Alaska having come across crude oil in 1968, it became competitive and well known. Later, a pipeline was built in the Alaskan area and helped the whole area and the surrounding places gain from the crude oil. Another disaster occurred again in the year 1989 when the pipeline got an accident and burst. The tragedy led Alaska to undergo another loss of more than 35 millions of gallons spillage.

The people that now live in Canada were then the first ones to move from the coast of Asia through the Western Alaska. Some of their practices differed largely like the subsistence and cultural practices. The people living in Alaska and parts of the Alaskan island worked together in exchange of goods to promote the economic growth of the country.

Alaska, following economic development grew to a large extent that the area became unsafe again. Individuals crossed paths with each other over gold mining, copper mining and many more. The area started having hostility . Different people run away to settle in other areas where they would live in peace. In Alaska they lived in fear of being attacked and forced into slavery. Families were no longer happy together as the clashes made them to separate. Alaskans were at the end displaced by an average of eighty percent. A disease that broke out affected them and for two generations, they lost their immunity.

Killings took place in Alaska during the period that Russians had invaded every area that produced good things. They did so for their own benefit. They utilized everything and after they were over, they shifted to the North region of Alaska. The movement was a very slow process as they lacked transportation like ships and the sailors. Alaska became famous through its mining activity, fishing and canning. This has attracted many people from all over the world to come and visit Alaska, to view its beautiful sites. To mention Alaskan history, one had also had to mention the known Smith who performed serious crimes with gold mining. He threatened the life of people until he was shot dead by the villagers. Alaska expanded because of its popularity in gold mining. It made all other towns within to have good infrastructure leading to Alaska.
