Pointers For Writing Eskimo Stories

By Lana Bray

There is a lot of work that goes to producing a single book. Writers have to think hard to create something refreshing and they may have to revise their material several times just to get everything right. An aspiring writer has a long way to go before he can create good Eskimo stories of his own.

The writer will have to think hard to create a good start. The introduction can seem unimportant but remember that these are the first sentences that the reader will be looking at. These first few sentences will either spark his interest or lead him to think that your book is a boring read.

Develop the characters with care. For the most part, one should provide a description of the characters so that the reader gets a feel for their appearance and how they think and speak. There is usually a protagonist and an antagonist. The main character is usually someone the readers can relate to.

One should have a well thought out plot. Usually, these plots have a conflict or challenge of some sort, which is the focus of the whole material. One should start slow and then build up to the challenge. This way, the tension builds up and the reader gets more and more hooked to the characters and their struggles.

There are many ways to tell a story. How you narrate the plot will make a difference to the readers. You could be one of the characters telling the reader what has happened. You could tell the tale in third person, where you are omniscient and knows what is in everyones thoughts. Choose a point of view.

Your style of writing is also important. Grammar and sentence construction should of course be considered. Then, you also have to consider what kind of language is to be used. The combination of words and expressions can be quite effective in reaching the reader. Some authors like flowery descriptions while others prefer a short and direct approach.

Choose your target audience. When you think of what your reader would be like, you will be able to craft something that will appeal to them. You have to know what will interest them and what will sustain such interest. Age group, social backgrounds, experience, and other such qualities are some of the things you should take into consideration.

It will be difficult to find inspiration and think of something original. It can help if you look at other books in the market. When you read books from other authors, note what made you interested and how the author got you to read until the end. Analyzing other works can help you hone your skills. You will also be able to determine what topics and styles are common. Use this information to your advantage.

Almost everyone enjoys good Eskimo stories now and then. Writers however will need to put in a lot of effort to master the art of storytelling. They have to develop the plot and the characters well. They also have to choose their words carefully. It will be good for the author to constantly write so he can refine his skills and be a better writer.
