Count me in: a very useful tool

By Willy Shatner

Probabilities are that you either work on the computer or spend time typing on the PC for one reason or another. Whether you are writing proposals for your job, doing other sorts of writing, tying updates on Twitter, or polishing up your resume, you may often need to know precisely how many characters, and what amount of words, you have written so far. An internet character counter was designed for just that purpose, and it is astonishingly simple to utilize.

This kind of free online tool only requires you to cut'n'paste what you have written into the window, and then your characters (this includes letters, numbers, spaces, and symbols) are totaled up for you and displayed. This is very helpful for sites where you are allotted a restricted number of characters to get your idea across (such as Twitter or Facebook updates.)

A web word counter and an online character counter frequently are included on the same website or a sister internet site, which makes it easy for you to grasp precisely what you've done so far, and what you have left to do! Many of us find it easiest to start to type their work into whatever standard programme they use, and then to cut and paste the writing into the net word counter.

You can then simply click the count button to found out how many words you have written so far. It is so easy to get a free word count online, you can forget the old days when you had to meticulously count those words one at a time!

Both an internet personality counter and an online word count are very good tools to keep convenient on your computer. There is no need to do any downloads with a free word count tool or a free online character counter â€" all you really need to do is bookmark a good site so you'll have it for your character or word counting needs in the future!
