How To Spot A Good Marketing Writer

By Chloe Gib

Good literature is one that engages the readers. A better one causes for the readers to act. A good marketing writer is one who will be able to do both. Marketing write ups are to be worded in a way that will translate into sales.

The truth about business is that a good product is not enough to make a sale. Sales are often made by the use of effective marketing strategies and this is where the services of financial writers come in. Search the internet and you find a lot of people selling business writing services. But truth is, not everything they write will do your business justice.

There are many types of authors. Those who use highly technical jargon, then there are those who seem to be suffering from verbal diarrhea, and then others still can be very persuasive that your potential customers tend to run the opposite direction. So you could discern good writers from bad, here are some things to remember when hiring writers.

Before anything else, clarify the goal of your intended write up. Your product can be communicated through different channels and there are channel-specific writing styles. These channels could either be a newspaper, internet, or brochures. By figuring this out at the start, you will know which writer will be right for the task.

Look into the experience of the author. Ask to see samples of his work and see if you like his writing style or styles. See if his articles fit the profile of his target audience. The target audience will determine the choice of words and style of writing that is apt for the write up. Know your target market.

See if there is a fit of personalities. It is important that you can work with whomever you choose to hire. Determine what qualities are important to you and see if you can find those qualities in the person that you are considering.

Set expectations. Good to ask for an outline before getting the first draft. It takes time to come up with a first draft. To save precious time, look at the outline first. If it satisfies you, then he may proceed with drafting.

Finding a marketing writer that will do your business justice can be a daunting task. The image that you want your customers to see of you is dependent on the articles that will be written. Because of this, careful considerations have to be made before arriving at a decision.
