Comprehensive Understanding of The Employment Act and Its Practical Applications The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has announced changes to the Employment Act (EA) which will ensure better protection for PMEs while allowing flexibility for employers. The MOM will be introducing the EA amendment bill in Parliament in the second half of 2013. When passed in Parliament, the changes will come into force in the first half of 2014. Therefore, can employers simply adopt contractual simplicitor for PMEs? Give bogus managerial or executive designations to non-executive to circumvent EA?
