Information On Writing A Spy Novel

By Paula Barron

In today's day and age, individuals have many ways to express themselves. People who really like to listen to music might enjoy learning how to play a musical instrument. They can write lyrics and create their own personalized songs. People who love to draw might prefer to paint portraits of people and places that inspire them. If you prefer to write, you could write a poem, a short story, an essay, a novel, a screen play, or even a lengthy novel. If you're interested in spies and how spies operate, you could even write a spy novel.

Every story needs a variety of different characters to keep the plot interesting. The main character of any story is called the protagonist. This is generally a character that the reader should be rooting for or supporting in their quest. You can give the protagonist a variety of different character traits and physical characteristics.

You can do a variety of different things to make your characters interesting. Be sure to think about a variety of different traits that make your characters unique and interesting. If they enjoy telling jokes, your readers might relate to them due to their sense of humor. If they like their fathers but hate their mothers, some readers might relate to that as well. It's up to you to make your characters as interesting as you can.

Be sure to think about what your characters look like too. Be sure to note what color their hair is, what color their eyes are, how much they weigh, what ethnicity they are, and how tall they are. By creating a specific image in the reader's mind, they'll be able to visualize what your characters look like more easily.

Along with the protagonist, you should start thinking about secondary characters as well. These are characters that help move the plot along. They can be friends or coworkers of the protagonist, or people who the protagonist encounters during his or her journey. Sometimes the secondary characters can be more interesting the main character, so be sure to flesh them out as much as possible.

You should begin by thinking of an interesting plot to have your characters involved in. Also think about the setting of where your story takes place. For instance, your story could take place during the early 20th century, or it could take place over five thousand years ago. You could have the characters grow up in Russia, Germany, or even Canada.

The plot is one of the most important parts of any story. You want to think about a problem that the protagonist has, and follow them on their journey to find a solution. Be sure to read various other novels within the spy genre to get an idea of what plots consist of. The more you read, the more inspiration you will have to create you own unique story line.

Now that you have a better idea of how to craft your spy novel, try to start as soon as possible. Set aside a specific amount of time every day to write. This could be in the morning or after you get off work. Just make sure you write consistently and as often as you can, and eventually you'll finish your story in no time.
