Russia is huge and lovely country, usually widely known for its buildings, art, museums and gems. Except for all this, Russia is also well known for its real gems, the influential folk who were born in Russia. If you think, you can take a quick look at the list of Great Russian people then I must tell you that it is totally not possible. This place is a genuine rich mine of eminent and famous people. I was a bit confused so I choose one from the top three categories. Take a look..

Baryshnikov Mikhail : Ballet dancer and actor (1948)

Baryshnikov Mikhail comes the first on my list of Famous Russian people. He was born in Riga and studied in St. Petersburg. Later he joined Kirov (now known as Mariinsky) theatre in 1960 as a soloist. While on tour with a group in Canada (1974), Baryshnikov selected to stay to extend his range by including modern ballets. This phenomenal skillfull performer joined the North American Ballet Theatre and became its Director shortly. Beside making his well-known version of the Nutcracker, he has also done acting with roles in White Nights and The Turning Point in Hollywood.

Rasputin Grigori: Monk: (1871-1916)

Rasputin has been among the most highly controversial public figures of the tsar Russia. He had been known for his extraordinary contribution in treatment of Tsarevich Alexis ' haemophilia (1907), where the best surgeons failed. He was expert at hypnotism. At points when Alexis started to bleed, it was Rasputin only who was able to calm down the child, ease the agonies, moreover slow the bleeding. His contribution gave him a reception to the court, which was exploited covetously in an abominable life of debauchery, together with dragging the picture of the court and the Royals further into the mud. Rasputin political influence grew shortly because of his control over Tsarina Alexandra. Key army and political personnel were dropped or selected according to his need. Later on some monarchists sent by Prince Yusupov murdered him.

Lenin Vladimir: Russian Statesman: (1870-1924)

Lenin Vladimir was an activist and founding figure behind Bolsheviks party, who was appointed as founder behind the USSR and directed it above 65 years. He studied from the School of St. Petersburg. Later his connection with revolutionary politics awarded him three years of exile in Siberia (1897). After that, he went to Switzerland (1900) and became the leader of Bolsheviks in 1905 during the abortive revolution. Unsatisfied with the concept of 'Military communism ', Lenin established the New Industrial Policy in year 1921 allowing limited free venture.
