New York Web Design: What Is A CMS?

By Arthur Williams

There's no denying the fact that websites have content to offer, with some being more different than others. However, each website has one thing in question: they have a CMS that they work off of. Even though New York web design experts know what this term entails, others might scratch their heads, wondering what it's all about. To better understand what a CMS is, here are just a few key points that should be discussed.

For those who do not know what a CMS - or content management system - is, it's a program that's used in order to post and edit content on a website. Even though these systems are often associated with blogs and news publications, due to the wealth of content they showcase on a regular basis, you should know that they are used to manage smaller sites as well. Simply put, a CMS is responsible for drawing in visitors and ensuring that they stick around as well.

Of course, there are other features that your standard CMS may offer. In fact a NY Internet marketing company can tell you all about SEO features, and how they can make the content you post searchable. However, this comes about through the usage of hyperlinks, meaning that you cannot fully rely on your content management system for this. However, the idea of your posts being more easily picked up by Google should be recognized.

It's also worth noting that the average CMS is generally easy to use, even for those who aren't the most tech-savvy in the world. According to companies such as Avatar New York, WordPress is regarded as one of the most popular content management systems in the world. The reason for this is that the layout isn't complicated or clunky, which makes for easier management of any website. Anyone who specializes in New York web design can say the same.

If you have been curious as to what the term "CMS" is all about, the previous talking points are more than worth recognizing. There are so many forms of content to be posted and managed, so it's good to see that there is an easy system to implement. It doesn't matter if you're experienced in web design, or if you don't know the first thing about it. By implementing the system in question, your site will become a much more viable platform.

Lessons From Hugging A Giant Porcupine

By Evan Sanders

So, I hate to break it to you...I've never truly hugged a porcupine.

But in this metaphor, I have.

I think you'll vibe with this one big time.

Relationships are incredibly complicated.

All types of relationships are complicated. It's amazing that any of us get along in the first place. With all of the craziness of life going on, life can be pretty difficult at times.

Then, when you throw peoples emotions, past events, and egos into the equation as well it gets even more complicated.

However, there's something to be said for the person who stays another persons rock no matter what is going on in their life. There's something special about being someone who can support another person despite their misbehavior.

We all need someone to put our back up against when times get tough. The reality is, we actually all really need that person in our life. We need someone to talk to, to express our deepest fears and our greatest wishes, our worries, doubts, fears, insecurities and everything else in between.

But it takes vulnerability.

It's going to take you breaking down your walls and barriers and really confiding in someone else. You don't censor your life. You don't hide the nasty parts of your character. You just show people who you are.

So what's the beautiful part about all of this?

You give another person an opportunity to love you just the way you are.

You become imperfectly perfect to them and give them the opportunity to support you.

We all, deep down, are thirsting for a love that seems to be harder and harder to come by these days.

So when people out there in the world are really hurting, when they are suffering, when they are emotional and in pain and may seem a bit prickly like a porcupine...

Give those people a hug.

Nourish them. Love them. Give them the care they need. Break down their walls and let them know that they are loved no matter what.

That's the good stuff. That's real love.

That's really loving someone for who they are.

That's how we all deserve to be loved.

That's what we all deserve.

The Journey Of Your Life

By Evan Sanders

"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." - Joseph Campbell

Every single person has a story.

Everyone has started somewhere and everyone has a destination that they would like to go. However, the difference between those who are out in the world doing in and those who are stuck comes down to one thing: action.

I think Joseph Campbell, the famous American Mythologist who wrote, "The Heroes Journey" would certainly agree.

We all know that we have something deep inside of us that is just begging to come out.

For some that might be a courage, for others that might be acceptance.

But we all are on a journey.

I'm going to try to tell you something that may or may not change your life. If you decide to dive into the journey of personal development, you are going to enter into one of the most satisfying and fulfilling journeys there are. There will be great victories and great defeats, but in the end, you will come out a better person for it.

It will be challenging, but if you bring in a group full of people who believe in you and support you, you won't be doing the whole thing on your own. You won't be traveling into the fog without a team.

There will be many times you will be challenged throughout this life (if it didn't challenge you...you wouldn't be growing). That comes with the territory. But if you stick with it and dedicate yourself to simply "showing up" no matter how hard the day may be, you will grow.

You will grow in ways you never imagined.

You are going to develop your mind, body, and soul.

You are going to take steps into fears, celebrate breakthroughs, and change your life one day at a time.

So dive into the journey of your life.

How To Find The Best Fantasy Books

By Daniel Powell

For those readers who love the fantasy genre there are many helpful sources of information around to help them to find the best titles to suit their interest. Of course each reader has unique tastes, so it can be a challenge to find a series of books to match. However, there is an array of guides and resources around which can help readers to locate the best fantasy books to suit their interests.

In fact you can find a whole host of resources which are aimed at helping you to find out more fantasy books including reviews, blogs and newsletters. These offer a simple means of learning more about new releases and considering if the style will appeal. Keep in mind that reviewers clearly do not agree and what you enjoy may not appeal to others. This variety is all part of the hobby of reading.

Still, it can be said that the range of tools on offer can prove very helpful. Today it is possible to find many reviews from not only book critics but everyday readers. In fact a lot of the most popular online book stores have sophisticated systems for readers to post their reviews.

As well it is worth pointing out that not all reviews are necessarily objective. In fact, many may be unreliable or even sponsored by the author or publisher. Thus it is important to take them with a grain of salt. Often the best way to find out if you will like a book is simply to read it yourself.

Another means of finding out about how readers rate books is through sales figures. The best seller list is an indication of the most popular titles. Many times these lists include useful links to help you to source the publication for purchase.

Furthermore, there are variety of publications such as newsletters and magazines which focus on fantasy book genres. These may regularly feature reviews of the latest published releases. Some other inclusions may be author profiles and articles exploring how the most popular novels were created. These make interesting reads and are a good way to connect with the wider community of fantasy book enthusiasts.

It is very simple but can be extremely effective as many publishers and authors realize. Word of mouth is a powerful tool in publicizing a book and it can work for you too. Asking around among family and friends for their favorite new books may prove a very helpful way to find out about new titles which you had not considered.

For further help relating to this subject thankfully there are a multitude of sources available. For instance, there are many well known blogs available online which focus on novels and publishing. You can also find weekly magazines and newsletters which profile reader tools and buying guides. It is even possible to find pod casts and television programs which are focused on fantasy books. Taking advantages of these tools is a low cost means of being introduced to new authors and titles. It can also help you to connect with the wider community of fantasy and science fiction book fans and enthusiasts.
